Summer has arrived in Tamil Nadu.It has been scorching in several places in the state of Tamil Nadu including Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Madurai.
The temperature crossed 102 Degrees.

In the districts of Chennai & Thirunelveli, the temperature touched 100 Degrees.

There was a sharp rise in the heat day-before-yesterday (Wednesday, 23rd March) in all districts except Kodaikkanal & Ooty.

However, all of a sudden, there was a considerable reduction in the intensity of heat yesterday (Thuirsday, 24th March).

Chennai Meteorological Centre Director, Mr. S R Ramanan explained the reasons for the sudden drop in the temperature.

There was no sea-breeze for the last few days in the state of Tamil Nadu and the breeze was coming from Southwest direction.  This led to undue rise in temperature.

However, the breeze has now started blowing from South since yesterday. It is also expected that sea-breeze will set in from Southwest direction. Because of this, the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai Metro city will experience a reduction in the intensity of heat. There will be a small reduction in the heat in other districts as well.
