Now, a high tech umbrella

A high tech umbrella has been designed that predicts the weather. Called the Oombrella, it has built in sensors that collect temperature, pressure, humidity and light data in real time. The collected information is processed and shared with other users in the area. Users are, therefore, in possession of accurate and up to date results.

The device sends an alert to your smartphone to remember to carry your umbrella in case of a rain prediction. If the user forgets his or her umbrella at a store or a restaurant, the device sends a notification via bluetooth before they stray too far away.

The Oombrella has an opalescent canopy that is constructed from an exclusive material that makes you feel you are holding an aurora borealis in your hands. One model of the device projects images across its canopy interior. Another expels water with a single shake.

The project is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, where it`s already raised over half of its $65,549 goal. An oombrella can be reserved for a pledge of $77, and the compact capsule for $32.
