A new beta update for Android users has been released by WhatsApp. The update adds a number of features that will further enhance user experience on the platform. The beta update v2.12.560 is available to users who have registered on WhatsApp beta testing platform. It is not available on Google Play Store yet.
Users will now be able to reply directly via the notification panel. They can expand the notification instead of opening the app. Earlier this month, a WhatsApp update v2.12.16 was released for iPhone users.
The Android update has features such as multiple selection, contact and group actions. Till now, when a user clicks on an individual or group icon or image, a separate window pops up to show an expanded image along with the chat options and other info. In the new update, clocking on the image will show up many more options based on individual or group chat. The expanded window has been done away with.
Users can also select multiple chats on the app. This will help the user delete unwanted chats quickly, while selecting common activities for the selected chats. Also, the new update has a range of wallpaper selection options.
