Indian Institutes of Technology, owned by the central government, have raised the academic fees for their courses for the students under the common category to Rs. 2 Lakhs.
Currently, the annual academic fee for the course is Rs. 90000/-.
This is now being increased by the Human Welfare Ministry to Rs. 2 Lakhs.
The ministry of Human Welfare has given an explanation for this increase that it is as per the recent recommendation for the institutes to earn the revenue for the expenses incurred other than the common expenses from this increase in fees.
The Human Welfare department has informed that this increase in academic fess will be applicable to all the 23 Institutes of Technology and this increase will come into effect from the current academic year.
