Star Health Insurance company has introduced the insurance coverage scheme for special children.
This is a group policy.An introductory event of the scheme was organised yesterday (Sunday, 10th April) when 241 special children from Sankalp NGO were provided with 1-year insurance.
There are people in the age between 5 & 30 in this group.A single individual with this coverage can claim up to Rs. 1 Lakh per year.
Star Health`s Managing Director Mr. Prakash explained that this new scheme is being introduced as a group insurance policy.
The data available on special children (children affected with autism) is incomplete. Hence, the scheme is introduced as a group policy. Individual policies will be introduced in a few years.
Star Health Insurance company`s premium collected in the last financial year exceeded Rs. 2000 Crores. When compared to the previous financial year 2014-15, this is up by 36 percent. The premium collection for 2014-15 was Rs. 1470 Crores.Star Health has 69 Lakh customers.
