Board of Directors approves change of name for Neyveli Lignite

The Board of Directors has approved the change of name for the public sector undertaking Neyveli Lignite Corporation.The name will be changed to NLC India.
This company had decided to commence expansion activities during a meeting last month.
The company had also decided to improve the production (power generation) efficiency.
The company has decided to venture in thermal power projects, windmill power generation, and solar power generation.The company is also planning to take over other coal mining projects.
As the company enters her aspects of power generation from the current set-up of being an exclusive coal-power generation, the company opted for a change in name.
The Board of Directors has approved the same.The company targets a power generation of 19000 MW capacity before the year 2025.
