The leading company Reliance has decided to reopen its petrol bunks.
Earlier, Reliance took a decision to invest Rs. 5000 Crores to set up petrol bunks throughout the country. It planned to open 5000 petrol bunks in the country. In the first phase, Reliance opened 1400 petrol bunks.
However, sales were dull and there was no profit earned. So, Reliance closed the petrol bunks in May 2008.
It reopened the petrol bunks again. However, the number of petrol bunks was lesser. Only 950 petrol bunks were operated. Meanwhile, due to petrol price restabilization and withdrawal of subsidy for diesel, its business was affected.
In this scenario, Reliance has currently taken a decision to reopen all its petrol bunks.
This is because of the recent spurt in the sales of petrol and diesel.
