There was news earlier that Apple has increased the prices of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s in India to pitch the iPhone SE more effectively to the consumers. It was further mentioned that the price revision is merely a withdrawal of discounts Apple had offered on its iPhone range in January-March 2016 period.
Apple`s surprise price hike may come as a blow to most shoppers, who were under the belief that the iPhone price would no longer go up. It is also a concern for Apple as its rival Samsung is getting great response for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones.
Now Apple has denied reports of hike in prices of iPhones in the country and said that the smartphones were retailing at the same prices as they were introduced.
Currently, the Cupertino-based firm`s website confirms that retail prices for the 16 GB variants of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 are at still at Rs 62,000 and Rs 52,000, respectively.
