The sales of an Operating System (OS) made in India for mobile phones, Indus OS, has overtaken Apple and Windows OS and acquired the 2nd place.
In the Indian mobile phone market, Google`s Android OS leads in the 1st place with 83.8 percent users. Indus OS, made in India, is in the 2nd place with 5.6 percent users.
Next in the list is Apple with 2.5 percent and then Windows, with 0.7 percent.
The CEO of Indus OS, M. Rakesh Deshmukh, informed that currently, there are 5 Lakh users and it is expected that this would swell to double in the next 6 months.
Indus OS has been introduced with the tag, The world`s 1st Regional OS. One of the main features is the facility to use 12 Indian Languages.
