Reserve Bank of India has decided to print the English alphabet R in the 1000 rupees currency notes. In order to enhance the security of Indian currency notes, the Reserve Bank Of India is taking several steps. As per this, the RBI has decided to issue banknotes of Rs 1000 denominations with inset letter R in both the number panels. The banknotes bearing signature of RBI Governor Raghuram G Rajan, will also have the year of printing 2016 printed on the reverse. The other aspects in the present currency notes will continue.
