Dial 1950 to register a complaint about election money dispersal in Tamil Nadu

Chief Election Commissioner Rajesh Lakhani informed that 7500 squads will be deployed to check and prevent money distribution during the election in the 234 legislative constituencies in Tamil Nadu. This will be a 24-hours a day operation.

He informed that 350 election observers have reached Tamil Nadu. They have been advised about the checking rounds in the night. The activity of booth-slip distribution is getting completed today. The remaining booth-slips will be sealed and given to the election officer. The voters can get from the election officer. The voters without booth-slip can show other proofs to vote.

Complaints regarding the money distribution can be made during any time to the control room. The public will have to dial 1950

150 complaints were received during yesterday night alone (Thursday, 12th May).

7500 squads will be in action from tonight (Friday, 13th May).

These squads will function throughout the 24 hours of the day. The EVMs will be transported to the polling centres from the morning till evening on 15th May.
