5859 students from 32 Corporation schools in Chennai wrote the +2 examinations. 5534 students have passed.
The 3 girl students who topped the rankings had chosen Commerce as their elective subject.
It is notable that the 3 girls who topped last year’s rankings also had chosen Commerce.
Out of the 326 students who scored aggregates over 1000, most of them had chosen Commerce.
There is a complaint from the parents that the corporation school students who choose Mathematics and Science as electives do not score high marks.
Some corporation schools do not even start classes on Science and Mathematics.
In this regard, a corporation education department official explained that the parents of the students who score high marks in Mathematics and Science in their 10th standard in Corporation schools do not want them to continue their 11th Standard there. They prefer to change to private schools. So, with the high-scoring students already out, the remaining students do not score high marks in their final exams. Many students and parents prefer Commerce.
