Last year the cut off mark for the backward community category was 197.25. This year it is likely to be increased by 197.50.

Though the Supreme Court has mandatorily mentioned that NEET is compulsory for admission of students for MBBS and BDS courses, Tamil Nadu government are taking serious steps to prevent this examination in order to help the students. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and DMK leader Karunanidhi have also stressed this point in their election manifestos.

Hence this year, there will be no NEET in Tamil Nadu.
