Higher officials from the office of Smrithi Irani, the minister of human resource development has stated that all the schools will be examined and a ranking list will be issued. Smrithi Irani has also given the go ahead for this decision and has instructed to begin the necessary works in the same year. Hence, ranking list for government schools, about 10 percent of schools across India will be issued. This will eventually be expanded to private and state government schools. Accordingly, nearly 50 percent of rankings will be completed by the year 2019.

In their note about the same, officials from the Ministry of Human Resources has stated that the department had asked for opinions from education experts in this regard. They articulated about the scenario in private schools and claimed that there is nearly 25 percent fault in these schools. And about 25 percent positions are vacant with the government schools. The experts stated that it is not possible to rank these schools with all such flaws. It is primarily important to sort these mistakes, as the first move.

There are a number of private and media agencies that have rolled out ranking list for Indian and international universities and vocational institutions. However, there are complaints that most of these are unilateral. Hence, a ranking list was issued by the Ministry of HRD during last April. This rank list involves central universities and vocational institutions.

On looking at immense response to this, ranking list for all colleges and universities are to be rolled out every month. This list will be of great help for students wanting to pursue higher studies. Likewise, ranking list for schools will also be issued, and the necessary discussions are on the go, say officials.
