Additional compartments

Additional compartments are to be added in Rajdhani express and Shatabdi express in order to aid passengers with more seats in the train. This will be of help for more number of passengers to travel in the train, especially during weekends. In these trains, printed tickets are completely banned. Train tickets will be sent to mobile numbers directly.

More languages

As of now, the Indian railway website is available in English and Hindi. This will henceforth be available in many other languages which will be of help for passengers in making advance booking.

Alarm facility

Passengers who travel at night time need not worry about missing their destination station. They will be waken up by alarm once they arrive close to their destination station. This facility is set to get launched on 1st of July.

No more premium trains

Premium train services that function with extra fare were introduced by Indian Railways in 2013. These trains will henceforth not be functional at all.

No more waiting

Indian Railways has announced that there will be no more tension with waiting for getting seats in trains that are fully booked in advance. The only two options with Indian Railways will be advance booking and RAC, and there won’t be wait list at all. Passengers can thus easily plan their travel.
