A land grabbing complaint was lodged against the popular comedian of Tamil cinema at the Chenai Suburban Police Commissionerate on Monday, by a retired bank employee.
According to the complainant, Palaniappan, who is a former Assistant General Manager of a nationalised bank, a land owned by him at Irumbuliyur near Tambaram was sold to Vadivelu through comedian Singamuthu with the help of forged documents.
`When I raised objections, I was threatened with dire consequences. Immediately I filed a police compliant (2009). But there was no proper action,` Palaniappan said.
Chennai Suburban Police Commissoner Rajesh Das, who had received the complaint on Monday, forwared it for further inquiry to the Central Crime Banch. Investigations are on, according to sources.
