Scattered rainfall in the city expected

South West Monsoon is prevailing over Tamil Nadu. The monsoon has intensified in Karnataka. Since there have been rains in Tamil Nadu, the ground level water has risen. The water levels in the reservoirs have gone up. At this juncture a trough extending from the Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu coast is likely to bring scattered rainfall in the city from Sunday evening.
 
Area Cyclone Centre director S Balachandran said: Cyclonic circulations extending to a distance of 3.6 to 4.2 km on the Bay of Bengal will trigger rainfall over several parts of the state for the next three days.
