It is mandatory for everyone to file taxes every year if their income level falls under taxable income category. The last date for filing tax for the financial year 2016-17 is 31st of this month. In a press release about the same, the income tax department has stated that this report is issued to remind the tax payers about paying tax. During last year, all tax payers would have filed tax online.

Filing tax online is very easy similar to your experience last year. It is also simple to do. Hence, you can file the tax without wanting to wait in long queues and among commotions. You can thus choose to pay online.

There are 9 different forms issued for filing tax. IT R-1, IT R-2, IT R-2A, IT R-3, IT R-4S, IT R-4, IT R-5, IT R-6, IT R-7 are these forms. Those who earn through salary, interest, and house rent need to file tax using IT R-1. Those who do not generate income through trading or business and those belonging to joint families need to file tax using IT R-2.

IT R-2A form is for those who do not earn through trade or business and not through any capital investment and without having any property or house in overseas nations. A new addition is made to the IT R-1 form. This form was earlier of 5 pages and is increased to 7 now. There is no change with filling data about overseas properties. Likewise, there are provisions to fill data about Aadhar number, mobile number, email id, etc. It has now become mandatory to feed details of total bank balance and overall fund present in your bank account during the previous financial year.
