Works to verify Aadhar card details have begun

The associate director of National Census Commission Krishna Rao has stated that the total number of Aadhar card applicants has raised to 95.32 percent. There are hardly lesser than 5 percent applicants to whom Aadhar is yet to be distributed. He also added that Aadhar cards are distributed to 87.3 percent applicants based on fingerprint scans and iris scans.
People from across the country show immense interest in getting their unique identity as Indian citizen. We need to register our basic details for getting the Aadhar card. These details sourced from the public will then be saved in computer systems with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. This will be followed by feeding details like name, date of birth, address, mobile number, iris scan, and fingerprint scan. Based on these, a biometric number will be given. At last, with all these information, in a few weeks after this, the Aadhar card will be distributed.
In Tamil Nadu, about 95.32 percent individuals have so far applied for Aadhar card with all their basic details. Separate centres are functional at Taluk offices and Corporation zonal offices to carry out these works for Aadhar cards.
Based on the details sourced from the public, 87.53 percent applicants have received Aadhar card so far. The maximum Aadhar distribution is recorded with Ariyalur district with 94.52 percent.
Speaking about this, Krishna Rao stated that the individual population of each and every district will be surveyed by the census commission. When there are people residing here from other districts, they apply for Aadhar card then. Hence, the total number of Aadhar applicants will be higher than the population in the respective district. Thus, in this way, There are more number of Aadhar applicants than population in Chennai, Theni, Perambalur and few other districts.
Works to verify the correctness of details given while applying Aadhar are being carried out at present. The central government will take a call on how these Aadhar cards should be distributed. As of now, Aadhar is printed on a paper and sent through post. Though these plastic cards distributed at e-seva centres are valid, these are not the permanent ones.
Details given at the time of applying Aadhar card will be verified by visiting each and every home. Based on the final verified detail, the Aadhar card will then be distributed. However, there will be no change in the Aadhar number. This process will affirm the correctness of Aadhar details, said Krishna Rao.
