Amma Theatres to opened before local polls

It has been decided to inaugurate Amma Theatres before the local polls. The civic body is planning to redevelop Amma Arangam, the modern auditorium in Shenoy Nagar into an Amma theatre. The Corporation is planning to redevelop the Pitti Thyagaraya Arangam in T. Nagar as an Amma theatre too .
In addition to redevelopment of existing buildings, the Greater Chennai Corporation has identified lands of line agencies such as Tamil Nadu Housing Board for the construction of Amma Theatres.
