Chennai Metro Rail services between Alandur and Airport to begin soon

Chennai Metro Rail services began the operations during the month of June 2015. The metro rail services between Koyambedu and Alandur had a overwhelming response. There was a complaint that the metro rail tariff is very high.
At this juncture the works on the elevated lines between Alandur and Airport have been completed and is ready to be commissioned soon.
Chennai Metro Rail has applied with the commissioner of metro rail safety (CMRS) to conduct inspection in the nine-kilometer stretch between Little Mount and Airport. Documents related the approvals have already been sent and analyzed by the commissionerate officials.
Metro rail officials said commissioner of metro rail safety is likely to conduct inspections by the end of July or early August. Based on the certification, metro rail officials will get the final nod from the state government to commission the line.
