Revised budget for 2016-17 to be presented tomorrow

Finance Minister O Panneerselvam will present the revised budget for this year tomorrow at the Tamil Nadu State Assembly. He had had earlier tabled the interim budget on February 16, ahead of the Assembly polls on May 16.
After the elections, the AIDMK came back into the power. The 15th Assembly session had been held between June 16 and 23 where Governor K Rosaiah gave his address to the Assembly. Later on the assembly was adjourned without fixing the next date for convening.
The revised budget for the year 2016-17 will be placed before the House tomorrow at 11 am. Implementation of new schemes, particularly 50 percent subsidy for women buying scooters, free power to weavers and loan waiver to farmers and mobile phones to all family card holders are to be announced tomorrow. It is expected that this budget session will be held up to 2nd week of August.
