Twitter has recently announced a new feature that offers the users with the privilege of getting their accounts the exclusive blue tick that only the most popular personalities enjoyed.
To get a blue tick, users are required to prove that they are who they say using a verified phone number and confirmed email address. To do this, you can go to settings by selecting the cog icon on your profile and verify your email address and phone number. Users must set their accounts to public. This will enable their accounts to be verified. To do this, you can deselect the protect my tweets option under the settings section.
Other necessary things are a short biography, header, profile photos, birth date and relevant website address. You can add this information by going to your Twitter profile and selecting Edit profile.
You may also be asked to upload a government issue ID, like a passport or driving license. Twitter will essentially notify its users via email whether their request has been successful or not. You have the option of reapplying within 30 days if you fail at the first attempt.
