New secretariat building in TN to converted to hospital - CM Jayalalithaa

Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa has announced that the new secretariat building will be converted into a hospital.
Block A of the new secretariat building at Mount Road would be converted to a multi super specialty hospital.
In a suo moto statement in the Assembly on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the 97,829 sq ft building will house the hospital with all modern medical facilities equivalent to that of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at New Delhi.
The block B of the new secretariat complex would also be used for medical college purposes. She also added that all public health centre would be turned into a 30 bed hospital.
The new secretariat was built by the previous DMK government and had held assembly session in it. The building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
