Chennai Metro Rail to soon launch services to Airport

Regarded as one of the main landmarks of Chennai, Chennai Metro Rail services were launched in June last year. Every day, thousands of people have been using the service between Koyambedu and Alandur. The metro rail which was operated upto Alandur for the last one year will now be extended to Airport. The trial run between Little Mount and Airport has been successfully completed.
Metro Rail is expected to start commercial operations on the 8.33 km Chennai Airport-Little Mount stretch by the third week of August after getting approval from Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety S Nayak.
