The course fee for teachers training education goes up

The Judge N V Balasubramainan committee has decided to revise the fees for teacher training courses.

There are over 600 educational colleges and 300 teacher training schools in Tamil Nadu.

Apart from there are Physical Education Teacher training colleges.

Based on the complaints received that exorbitant fees are charged by the private teacher training institutes, the government of Tamil Nadu fixed the fees for teacher training courses in the year 2012.

A committee was formed under the leadership of retired Judge N V Balasubramanian to decide the fees for teachers training course in private institutions. This committee conducted discussions with the administrators of the private teacher training institutes and fixed the course fees. The fee was fixed for 3 academic years – 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15.

Presently, the above 3 year period has ended.So, the fees for the teachers training courses must have been revised. However, a final decision could not be made on this as the duration of the B.Ed course and M.Ed course was changed from 1 year to 2 years.

In this scenario, Judge N V Balasubramanian committee has decided to revise the fees for 3 academic years – 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19.

The committee has ordered the heads of the private teacher training institutions to furnish the details expenses on various posts including teachers and others.

One this data is received, the committee will conduct detailed sessions to decide the revised fees and announce the same for the next 3 academic years.
