More than 6500 people file IT returns at the special counters

6500 people had filed their IT returns at the special counters operated at Aayakar Bhavan in Nungambakkam.
Special counters to help the assesses file income tax returns was operated between July 28 and 31 at Aayakar Bhavan in Nungambakkam from 9.30am to 5.30pm. More than 6500 people filed their returns.
Officials mentioned that there was less crowd compared to previous years because many of the people are filing the returns on online.
Tax returns for 2015-16 (assessment year 2016-17) were originally to be filed by July 31. But now the deadline has been extended to August 5. Special counters will not function during this period.
