Ringing bells has delivered the first 5000 Freedom 251 smartphones on Monday, to start with. This was followed by delivering 65,000 more such phones who had ordered the phone for lesser than $4 through cash on delivery mode.
During mid of February this year, the company planned to deliver about 25 lakh handsets within the deadline off 30th June. Ringing bells saw about 7 crore registrations before they got the gateway crashed.
The lottery process was launched a few days back. And the company has started dispatching units to the people. The response for units dispatched so far is immense and we are elated to observe this, the company hinted in its recent statement.
The deliveries are so far made in states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Punjab, Kashmir, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, etc.
Once the 65,000 units lied up gets delivered, Freedom 251 would have crossed 70,000 units in the country. Mohit Goel, the CEO of Ringing bells is coping with meeting consumer needs.
We have got about 2 lakh Freedom 251 handsets. Our deliveries will begin from 30th June, said Goel. Once these deliveries are done, registration for next batch of handsets will be open.
Features
The handset is enabled for 3G. It comes with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. It has 1 GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. Its memory card is extended up to 32 GB. Primary camera is of 8 MP and comes with flash, and the front camera is of 3.2MP. A 1800 mAh battery powers the phone and it runs on Android 5.1 lollipop.
