This workshop offers an exciting opportunity to experience and capture the exciting cross cultural collection of lifestyles, crafts, art and architecture of South India. Dakshina Chitra means a picture of the south, it is a Heritage village where the lifestyle of South Indians is portrayed based on their states. The village has 18 heritage houses representing the living styles, artefacts and culture of the people from the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana; it is a project of Madras Crafts Foundation opened in December, 1996. This unique Workshop gives an opportunity to capture the living moments of traditions, artwork, crafts, folk performing arts, puppet shows, colors, vibrance, heritage and culture in creative and captivating angles. Join us in showing your amazing perspective of culture and tradition to the world in the form of your creative photographs.

DCP Skipper

Srivatsan Sankaran hailing from Chennai is an Engineer by education, but a die hard Photographer by passion. He has been pursuing his passion seriously for the past 7 years. His primary objective of photography is to bring out a sense of union with Mother Nature and a sense of singularity with people. Exploring and experiencing the new places to capture nature, small creatures, people’s life style, culture and tradition in the sincere way gives him immense happiness. He has won ‘Shoot the Frame` award in 2012, he was one of the ‘Top 10 Tamron winner’ in 2013 and his work has been published in more than 20 magazines including Nat Geo Traveller. He is associated in the panel as Skipper, Team DCP Chennai.

WORKSHOP CHARGES

Rs 300 per head inclusive of all taxes.

Cost doesn`t include entry charges (Rs 100) and Camera charges (Rs 50).
Participants will need to pay the respective charges directly at the venue.

Carry your widest angle lenses
Please do carry a sturdy Tripod, for good sharp pictures in low light conditions.
Carry camera remote, filters if you have (not compulsory)
