Last date announced for applications for educational financial assistance for minorities

In a press release, the Office of the Chennai District Collector has announced the last date as 31st August for minority candidates belonging to Christianity, Islam, Sikhism. Jainism and Parsi religions to apply for educational financial assistance.
Students belonging to Christianity, Islam, Sikhism. Jainism and Parsi religions, studying in government or government-aided schools in Chennai District from 1st to 10th Standard, can apply for educational financial assistance under the Minority Students School Education Scheme.
The annual income of the parents of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh. Also, the applicant must have scored a minimum of 50 percent marks in the final examination of the previous class.
Eligible candidates may apply online before 31st August. The website: www.scholarships.gov.in
Fresh applications for financial assistance and applications for renewal must be submitted with the Aadhar Card number.
