1741 Chennai Corporation staff deployed for removing garbage in the nights

Due to heavy traffic congestion in Chennai, it has been decided to deploy 1741 cleaning staff to remove garbage in the nights.
Chennai Corporation in a press release has stated: Night time cleaning of garbage is taking place in the places where day time cleaning is not possible. The reasons are such as heavy traffic congestion, important inner roads and market places. As of now 1741 staffs are deployed for night cleaning. Everyday 1005 tons of garbage are being removed. Fluorescent jackets have been provided to the garbage cleaners for the safety purpose. An executive engineer is supervising this job.
