Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inaugurates 23 substations

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa, inaugurated 23 substations in the state.
 
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inaugurated 34 substations in the state installed at a cost of Rs. 242,2596 Crores at the Secretariat on behalf of the department of Fuel Energy on 5th August (Friday) through the website of TANGEDCO. This would facilitate the public to get the power supply.

Substations are required to be installed to prevent the transmission loss of energy as well as the higher maintenance expenses. It would also ensure the right and uniform power for the public. The Tamil Nadu state government headed by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, keeping this essential factor under consideration, have been installing new substations as per the public demand.

The details of the substations:

Tirupur district - Karuvalur, Salem district - Singapuram - substations of 230/110 kV

Tirupur district - Kadaiyur Road, Erode district - Perundurai SIPCOT III, Dindigul district - L Valaiyaqppatti, Sivagangai ditrict - Amaravathipudhur, Tuticorin district - Annadhupudhukkudi, Tiruchirappali district – Manikandam, Thiruvallur district – Thervaikandkai – 110/11 kV substations

Madurai district – Valandhoor – 110/33-11 kV substations

Virudhunagar district – Velayudhapuram, Thanjavur district – Kumbakonam  Nagriyam, Vellore district – Paravakkal, Krishnagiri district – Oothankarai and Pochampalli SIPCOT – 110/33 kV substations,

Cuddalore district – Komangalam,Pudhukkottai district – Gandharvakottai and Keezhakkurichi,Thiruvarur district – Vadapadhimangalam, Kanchipuram district – Kenambakkam, Dharmapuri district – Rayakkottai – 33/11 kV substations

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inaugurated the above 23 substations installed at a cost of Rs. 242,2596 Crores.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the service of internet facility for the public to apply and get power connection through internet.

There are 2.7 Crores power consumers of low voltage (240 volts) under TANGEDCO.

Currently, the procedure for applying for new power connection was submitting the application to the nearest EB offices in their area.

Under the new facility of online system inaugurated by the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the public applying for new power connection can visit the website www.tangedco.gov.in and fill up the applications and submit online wit the requisite proofs and attachments.

The application fee and other charges can be be paid online. The status of the application submitted can also be obtained on visiting this website.

This would save the public considerable time, travel, and expenses.
