Special checkup camps for pregnant women in Tamil Nadu

The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan is a scheme in practice, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to this scheme, pregnant women can get free medical checkup at government hospital for free on 9th of every month.
 
The ministry of family health and welfare has forwarded a circular to all states including National Health Mission in Teynampet, Chennai. In this, it is mentioned that it is mandatory to conduct free health checkup camps for free on all 9th of every month. This should be conducted at all primary health centers and hospitals.
 
Patients need to be screened also for blood test, blood pressure, diabetes, twin pregnancy, placenta at the bottom, anemia, heart problem, etc and each one with each of these conditions need to be given with health cards of different colors.
 
Accordingly, all hospital in Tamil Nadu will conduct such free camps on 9th of every month. After the screening done on 9th, details of pregnant women and the severity of their health condition, list of those who need special care, etc need to be submitted to Teynampet National Health Mission.
 
Speaking about this, the director of  a maternity hospital, said we have always been conducting such free camps to pregnant women. On last 9th, special checkup for pregnant women took place too and this saw participation by 120 pregnant ladies. Out of this, 66 of them needed crucial attention. They had about 15 different pregnancy challenges. They were all provided with separate checkup cards. On seeing this, exclusive treatment procedure will be practiced on them at hospitals. They need not encounter any difficulty at the time of delivery.

Accordingly, all hospitals across Tamil Nadu are conducting these special camps between 9 am and 4 pm today.
