LeEco to hire more than 1000 engineers in India

LeEco will hire around 1100 engineers for its research and development centre in India. The Chinese Internet firm had announced that it would set up its research and development centre in India.
In an official statement, the company said, In January, the company had announced that a majority of these hires will be from tier I engineering colleges like the IITs and the NITs across the country. We have organised a freshers` campus drive last week in Bangalore and received more than 2,000 applications from students across top engineering colleges.
Speaking about this, a senior executive from LeEco said, We are humbled and excited to see the interest amongst students` community to work with us. The skill sets we are looking for are areas including modem technologies, BSP, multimedia, TV Broadcast and internet technologies. India R&D team will be involved in both commercialisation and localisation support for all the devices launched in India. The India R&D centre will churn out innovations and work with China and US R&D centres. It will also soon start a camera image engineering lab for image quality, RF/Antenna design and tuning lab for smart devices.
The statement said, LeEco`s R&D centre will eventually support all India launches, and will test futuristic smart devices across all the geographical conditions as well as different network signal strength. The centre will also help the company to meet all the local requirements, support Indian languages, follow government regulations like Panic button and GPS requirements, and comply with different carrier requirements.
