3700 candidates have applied for B.Ed courses in the government and government aided colleges. It has been decided to hold the counselling and complete the students’ admission by August end.
In Tamil Nadu there are 7 government teachers training colleges and 14 government aided teachers training colleges. There are 1777 seats available under the government quota. The applications for the B.Ed courses were issued from 1st August. The last date for issuing the applications was on Tuesday. Yesterday was the last date to submit the filled application forms. 4,000 applications were sold.
When asked Thillai Nayagi, Principal of Lady Willingdon Institute of Advanced Study in Education about the counselling and admission process, she said: 4000 candidates have bought the applications to join the B.Ed courses. As per the last day count we have received 3700 applications. The applications sent through the post may reach today (Thursday). It is expected that we will receive almost all the applications. After verifying the applications we will release the rank list. After this the counselling will take place. The counselling dates will be finalized in a day or two. Admissions to the course will be completed during the last week of August.
