Mobile app for class 10 students

Madhan mohan, a math teacher from Jammanputhur Poongulam of Vellore district has developed a mobile app that will aid students in practicing all one mark questions found at the backside of textbooks. Students can read all one mark question and answer by themselves, take up tests and calculate scores by using this app.
Specialties of the app
This app is developed for Android phones. It does not require internet connection for functioning. This needs to be downloaded once and that’s it
All the one mark questions from various subjects are drafted in both Tamil as well as English
Each and every time a student clicks open the app, the order of questions will get shuffled. The hints for answers will also get shuffled.
Tough questions and those that are complex can be read again and again by using bookmark options in the app
For mathematics, students can perform calculation on the smartphone itself. For this, they need to select the Pencil option in the app
If the student answers right, it will get highlighted in green and for wrong answers, a red highlight will indicate
At the end of the training session, student details, subject they have learnt, etc will be indicted at last
If a student has scored full marks in the test, applauding sound will be heard. Depending on the marks scored, wooden, silver or golden trophies will be given to encourage the children.
The app will automatically save details including the subject learnt, marks scored, time spent, tests attended, etc. Hence, it will be of great help for the teachers and parents to track their child’s progress in studies
Students can share their scores through Facebook, mail, Twitter, SMS, etc.A total of 1500 question and answers are present including those in both Tamil and English.
Madhan Mohan worked for six months to develop this mobile app for school students. He stated that schools are giving intense training for students to score full marks in board exams. In spite of this, they make mistakes in answering one mark questions and score just 98 or 99, thus losing centum score.
At the same time, students who are not so good in studies fail to show interest in reading one mark question and answers. When I spoke to such children, I got to know that they are very much interested in playing mobile games. I thought of the ways in which I can make things work better for them.
