Tamil Nadu has been experiencing severe heat in the past few days. The temperature in the state feels as though there is yet another summer in 2016. Most parts of Tamil Nadu experienced severe heat yesterday. Now, reports from the meteorological department states that this scenario will keep continuing for five more days. In a note about this, the director of Chennai meteorological department, S. Balachandran said the southwest monsoon season is between June and September. However, there is no rainfall seen ever since the beginning of August. There is significant dip in southwest monsoon rain level. This dip is approximately of the range 70 to 90 percent. Incessant showers are observed in a few places across the state.
Dwindling moisture content in air is also observed. The sea breeze along land area is also seen losing its strength. An increase in blow of air from the atmosphere towards earth is also observed. Due to these reasons, there is no formation of rain clouds. This in turn increases temperature in Tamil Nadu. Hence, according to the present scenario, in the following five days, there will be severe impact of sun. A few places might receive rain showers, said S. Balachandran.
