Residents can include their name in the voter list: Chennai Corporation

Residents of Chennai and adjoining areas that are to be merged with Chennai Corporation, who want to include their names in the voter list should submit application forms within 10 days for inclusion in the draft supplement rolls.
The applications can be submitted to civic body`s 10 zonal offices besides at Tahasildar offices in Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts.
A press release from Corporation said that government had issued necessary orders to expand the Corporation to 200 wards and to conduct local body polls simultaneously.
Chennai Corporation Commissioner D Karthikeyan said that 107 wards would be formed in Chennai and rest of 93 would be merged from neighbouring Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts. The urban wards would have a population of 40,000, wards near Chennai city would have a population of 20,000 and rest would have a population of 10,000.
