Medical insurance cover for employees of milk societies announced

Making a statement under Rule 110 in the State Assembly Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced several initiatives for dairy development sector, including setting up of a polythene film production factory
 
J Jayalalithaa said   the polythene film factory would be set up at Ulundurpet in Villupuram district at a cost of Rs 82.54 crore to produce milk sachets.
 
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa: at present the films were procured from private players for making milk sachets. Since the qualities of the films were not up to the mark at times, it has been decided to set up a new polythene film factory with an installed capacity of 5,000 metric tonnes. The dairy farm at Nilgiris will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 4.82 crore.
 
She further announced renovation of 452 government quarters at Madhavaram Dairy Development complex at a cost of Rs four crore, implementation of new pension scheme that provides additional Rs 3,500 pension per month in addition to the amount already drawn under 1995 pension scheme, besides extending medical facilities and medical insurance cover for employees of milk societies on par with the government staff.
