Chef Sanjeev Kapoor Joins Apollo in the “Happy Heart Fest”

Apollo Hospitals group’s Billion Hearts Beating campaign takes a new shape this year with celebrity Indian Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s “Happy Heart Cooking Work Shop” in Chennai. Mrs. Sucharitha Reddy, Author of the Nostalgia Cuisine, presided over the event that was witnessed by many other celebrities. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor represents the Chief Crusader of Healthy Diet in the “Happy Hearts Fest”. 

 As an integral part of the week long campaign for “World Heart Day”, Billion Hearts Beating foundation, initiative of Apollo Hospitals Group, organized series of events across the nation. Apollo’s “Happy Heart Fest” aims at propagating the 5 thanthra’s to keep a healthy heart with the help of renowned celebrities. Healthy eating, Active Lifestyle, regular health checks, non smoking and controlling stress are the 5 controls that have been identified by the foundation to keep one’s heart hail and healthy. 

India’s favorite Chef Sanjeev Kapoor spread the healthy heart message in Chennai by preparing cholesterol free food during the “Happy Heart Cooking Workshop” organized by the Billion Hearts Beating Foundation. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has been associated with health cooking for a long time and his contribution to the culinary world is of Herculean magnitude. 

According to Mrs. Sucharitha Reddy, author of the Nostalgia Cuisine, “Eating the right heart - healthy foods can ward off problems that typically arise later in life such as, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and blocked arteries. Therefore it is important to know the right kind of food and how to make them in a very convenient manner that will suit the modern lifestyle.”

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor advised, “Adults should strictly not consume more than 60 grams of fat per day in order to maintain a healthy heart. There are several ways to cut down fat in daily cooking, but the first and the fore most step is ‘no oil’ cooking. It will take a while to become accustomed to eating without butter or oil, but once committed to eating a healthier, low-fat diet, it becomes much easier to continue for a healthy heart”. 

He also added, “If you cook junk food at home even that becomes healthy. Start cooking at home, go to the kitchen and take care of your family”.
