Brahmotsavam festival is celebrated at the famous Tirupathi temple every year during the Navarathri periods in the Tamil Calendar Month of Purattasi.
This, Brahmotsavam is scheduled to be celebrated from 3rd October with the holy flag-hoisting ceremony. The Brahmotsavam festival will continue till 11th October.
At 4.00 PM on 3rd October, the deity of the temple will be taken on the carriage Large Sesha (snake) vahanam on a procession around the corridors and streets of the temple.
On 4th October morning, the deity will be taken in procession on carriage Small sesha vahanam. On 4th October evening, the deity will be taken on a procession in the carriage of Anna (swan) vahanam.
On 5th October morning, the deity will be taken on a procession in the carriage of Simha (lion) vahanam. On 5th October evening, the deity will be taken on a procession on a carriage of Muthu (pearl) pandhal vahanam.
On 6th October morning, the deity will be taken on a procession on the carriage of Kalpa Vrutcham vahanam. On 5th October evening, the deity will be taken on a procession in the carriage of Sarvabhoopala vahanam.
On 7th October, morning, Mohini avatharam will be performed. On 7th October evening, the deity will be on the carriage of Garuda vahanam.
On 8th October morning, the deity will be carried on a procession on the carriage of Hanumantham vahanam. On 8th October evening, the deity will be taken on a procession on the carriage of Golden chariot. On the 8th October night, the deity will be carried on a procession on the carriage of yaanai (elephant) vahanam.
On 9th October morning, the deity will be taken on a procession on the carriage of Surya prabhai (Sun) vahanam. On 9th October evening, the deity will e taken on a procession on the carriage of Chandra prabhai (moon) vahanam.
On 10th October morning, the deity will be taken on a procession in the ‘chariot.
On the last day of 11th October, morning, theerthavari will be performed. On 11th October evening, the event of de-hoisting the flag will be performed.
On 11th October night, the deity will be taken on a procession in the carriage of Thanga pallakku (Golden palanquin) vahanam.
The main deity of the temple, Lord Malayappa Swamy will offer Darshan along with his Consorts to the thousands of devotees in various carriages.
