Prices of onions and tomatoes have gone high

For the last one month the prices of tomatoes and onions were selling at a low price but now the prices have started going up.

Last month tomatoes were sold for Rs 7 per kilo. At the same time tomatoes were sold for Rs 10 per kilo in some places. Now tomatoes are sold for Rs 15. Big onions which come from Karnataka and Nasik are sold for Rs 20 per kilo.

The moderate onions from Andhra are sold  between Rs 12 and Rs 15. Shallots are sold for Rs 35 per kilo.

Similarly beans and broad beans are sold for Rs 70 per kilo.Sweet lime which was sold for Rs 30 per kilo is now being sold for Rs 50 per kilo. Pomegranates are sold for Rs 200 per kilo. 

Domestic apple and imported apple are being sold for Rs 120  and Rs 180 per kilo respectively.

Merchants say that the prices of the vegetables and fruits will be high till Ayutha pooja festivals.
