United States National Marine Fisheries Service marine ecologist Mridula Srinivasan while speaking to the media said: Land resources have been shrinking in the world due to increase in the population in the world. Now the people attention has turned towards the sea treasure. Now due to illegal exploitation of marine resources, these resources are also going to the point of destruction. This causes indirect damage to the ecological chain,

Because of this we will have to face various problems. We are creating laws to protect the various wildlife species that live in the land. Similarly it is our duty to protect the marine species. At this point time, we should stop the destruction of the sea. At this point of time, we should use the sea treasure with limitations and save it. I have come to India to create awareness about the marine treasures. I will also insist students to take up marine studies. We have also decided to share the marine related technology from United States National Marine Fisheries Service to the Indian students. Especially India is in need of marine related studies. India is surrounded by sea on the three sides. A seminar on the awareness of marine is being held on 15th and 15th at Washington.
