Vocational education is verily important to back the economic growth of a country. My government strives to provide quality vocational training and encourages expanding human resources in industry sectors, says Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalitha.

As a move to strengthen the vocational education, I have announced a few notable schemes:

We had promised in our election manifesto that in each and every panchayat union, two wheeler repair training for short period will be given. Those who undergo this training will also be given enough financial support to start their own business. Making this a reality, I have ordered to set up 35 such two wheeler training centres in panchayat unions. In each of these centres, 30 individuals will be trained for a period of 3 months. This scheme will be carried out at a cost of Rs 1 crore and 68 lakhs

We had also promised for skill development and training for youngsters and women. Exclusive training centres will be set up at panchayat unions. This will be done in stages, encompassing every single panchayat union. Those who have passed class 10 and 12 will be given skill development training such that they are capable of beginning their own business or get employed. In this way, in 60 individuals will be trained across 60 panchayat unions counting to overall sum of 3600 individuals. The training will take place for a period of 3 months. The trainees will also be given with stipend of Rs 3000 per month. The scheme will be carried out at Rs 2 crore and 94 lakh.
