Metro rail between Alandur and St Thomas Mount to commence in another three days

Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety Nayak along with his team inspected St. Thomas Mount station and the service loop beyond Alandur. It is understood that the trains will also be operated in this stretch in another three days. Though the St. Thomas Mount station has been inaugurated along with the second stretch from Little Mount to Chennai airport, trains are not being operated to St Thomas Mount.
According to officials of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL): Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety inspected the 2 kms stretch between Alandur and St Thomas Mount from yesterday 12 midnight to early morning. The approval will come in one or two days. The commercial operations between Alandur and St Thomas Mount will begin in another three or five days. There will be no special inaugural function. Since the St Thomas Mount metro station in connected to suburban station, passengers will benefit much. Hence we are expecting more passengers.
