Large populations in India are still without electricity

Though Central Government says that there is no power deficit in the country, a report says that many of the houses in India do not have power connections.

In a report released by energy consultant Mercom Capital Group it has been mentioned: The Central Government statistics on power connection to the houses in India is not clear. There is no fullness in it. Large populations in India are still without electricity and power cuts are still part of daily life in urban areas and more so in rural areas. In some states where there is more production of electricity, power is not supplied for 24 hours. The reason of this is fear of losses due to low tariffs from residential and agricultural customers.
