Jobs: Engineers recruited for various jobs based on the GATE test performance

GATE, a written test, General Aptitude Test in Engineering, is conducted for the engineering graduates applying for post-graduation courses in engineering.

Presently, several public sector organizations under the central government have started using the performance in GATE test as a step for recruiting new employees in the vacant posts.

The GATE test for 2017 has been announced.Consequently, several public sector undertakings have released the announcements for recruitment of engineers in various departments.

The candidates interested in applying for these posts should apply for GATE test first and write the test and obtain the mark-sheet. Then, they can apply for the advertisements from these public sector undertakings with this mark-sheet from GATE test.

The selection is carried our based on the marks obtained in the GATE test and the performance in the interview.

Here is the list of public sector undertakings which recruit/select candidates based on GATE test:

BHEL:

Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is a major public sector undertaking in the field of electric power generation, distribution, and the manufacture of related equipment.

During the year 2015-15, BHEL has done a business worth Rs. 26.587 Crores. It is ranked as a Maharatna company.BHEL has recently announced the recruitment for Engineer Trainee to be filled up on the basis of performance in GATE test.

Approximately 50 posts are reported to be filled up. There are 30 to be recruited in Mechanical Engineering, and 20 for Electrical Engineering. Candidates who are graduates in the related engineering field are eligible to apply. The candidates must be under 27 years of age (born after 1st September 1989). For the postgraduate candidates, the age limit is 29.

The application for these posts will be in active form on 9th January 2017.

HAL

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is one of the public sector undertakings with the rank of Navaratna. The company is in the field of manufacturing planes, helicopters, plane engines, ship turbines, and design and manufacture of all auxiliary equipment and repair.

HAL has released an announcement to recruit Management Trainees.There are 50 vacancies in the technical department. There are 25 vacancies in Civil Department. There are 50 posts for Design Trainees. A total of 125 candidates will be recruited.

The various departments include Mechanical, Production engineering, electrical, electronics, electrical and instrumentation, and electronics and telecommunications.

Candidates who are under 28 years of age as on 7th February 2017 can apply.

BBNL

Broadband network Limited (BBNL) has also proposed to recruit executive Trainee based on the performance in GATE test. J Jobs are available for candidates with graduation (B. E. or B. Tech.) in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, IT (information Technology), Electrical, and Electrical and Electronics are eligible to apply.

The candidates should be in the age group 21-27 as on 15th January 2017.
