Symphony Technology founder Romesh Wadhwani, co-founder of outsourcing firm Syntel Bharat Neerja Desai, Airline veteran Rakesh Gangwal, entrepreneur John Kapoor and Silicon Valley angel investor Kavitark Ram Shriram have featured in Forbes - The Richest People In America 2016 list.
Wadhwani (69) was the highest-ranking Indian American on the Forbes 400 list, coming in at the 222 spot, with a net worth of USD 3 billion. Wadhwani is the chairman and CEO of Symphony Technology Group.
Bharat (63) and Neerja Sethi Desai, co-founders of Syntel Inc., placed at 274 on the 2016 list with a net worth of USD 1.72 billion.
John Kapoor, at 335 on this year’s Forbes list, has a net worth of USD 1.97 billion. The 73-year-old entrepreneur who is a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, came to the U.S. from India to get his Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry.
Placing at 361 in the Forbes ranking is Kavitark Ram Shriram (59) managing partner at Sherpalo Ventures, with a net worth of USD 1.93 billion
