Rain likely to continue for few more days

The much awaited northeast monsoon, which accounts for about 43 cm of Tamil Nadu`s annual rainfall of around 92 cm, has set in over the State.
The rain spell on Thursday and Friday morning affected life in several districts of the State.
Chennai received 52.5 mm rain. The weather office forecast more rains on Wednesday and Thursday.
"Following the trough of low pressure, heavy to very heavy rains were forecast for coastal and interior districts even as they received copious rains," SR Ramanan, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, Regional Meteorological Centre here said.
