100 feet road is considered one of  the important roads of Chennai city. Since the this road links Koyambedu and GST Road, there is always traffic congestions in this 100 feet road. People are suffering very much during the office hours. In the year 2010, the government decided to build two tier flyovers to ease the traffic congestion. Accordingly the MRTS bridge between Koyambedu and Alandur was built and is now under operation. Below the bridge in order to facilitate transports a flyover on both the sides of the MRTS bridge was under construction.

This flyover has been constructed at a height of 7 meters from the ground and its width is 18.6 meters. The flyover between Koyambedu and Ashok Pillar has been constructed at a cost of Rs 69.43 Crores. The roads are being laid on the both the ways of the flyover. Metro rail officials say that that this flyover will be thrown open to the public by end of next month.

Once completed, it will ease vehicular flow, as motorists taking the 100-ft Road from Vadapalani towards Koyambedu will not have to wait at the signal near the intersection and take the flyover. It will also make it easy for those using Arcot Road to go from Vadapalani to Kodambakkam.
